New Look, Same Great Taste

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new look packaging for Clonakilty Blackpudding and Clonakilty Whitepudding across Australia. Now available in a larger 280g format, our new design reflects the rich heritage and quality that Clonakilty is known for.

At the heart of our new packaging is the butcher shop bike, representing our family butcher shop. The bike sits outside Edward Twomey’s family butcher shop on Pearse Street in Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland, where our story began. We wanted to bring it to life in a way that celebrates our history while embracing our Australian journey. You will see the shapes of Ireland and Australia on the new design – representing the unique blend of an Irish recipe that is Australian made.

A Tradition of Quality Ingredients

Clonakilty Blackpudding dates to the 1880s in the same butcher shop, then called Harrington’s, and is made with the original Clonakilty Spices, a secret family recipe carefully handed down through the generations. It remains the same to this day and is known only to Clonakilty Food Co. owner Colette Twomey. Clonakilty Blackpudding is made using a traditional method combining beef, oats, onions, beef blood and a secret blend of spices which are mixed in Ireland and sent to a producer in Melbourne. Free from artificial additives and preservatives, it’s a source of protein and high in iron, making it as nutritious as it is delicious.

Clonakilty Whitepudding joined the family in 1986, when the Twomey family developed their own distinctive spice mix to give it its signature flavour. Clonakilty Whitepudding is made using similar processes to blackpudding but does not contain blood. Made with pork instead of beef, it is mixed with oats, onions and a secret spice mix. It’s also free from artificial additives and preservatives, and a great source of protein.
